Authentic Artist Collective

Community Values

The Authentic Artist Collective is a mutually supportive, international, open and inclusive community of artists from across a wide spectrum of disciplines and backgrounds. We aim to regard every human individual as a unique creative being. We aim to foster and nourish love and art in every living human being, irrespective of age, disability, gender or gender identity, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation, as well as nationality, social-cultural roots, wealth or health.

We also acknowledge that we each bring with us our own conscious and unconscious complex, unique and intersecting mix of privileges, lack of privilege, biases and lived experience.

We aim not to make assumptions about anyone else’s identity or lived experience.

We aim to be mindful of the space we take up, both with our bodies and voices.  We aim to engender no  harm to self, other, or the physical space.

Through fostering and nourishing love and art, we aim to make a positive contribution towards the reduction within our society of prejudices and other discriminations on the basis of ethnicity, religion, identity, physicality, and lived experience. These include racism, sexism, homophobia, queerphobia, lesbophobia, transphobia, biphobia, ableism, classism, ageism, colourism, islamophobia, antisemitism, fatphobia, xenophobia, body-shaming, conscious and unconscious bias.

We aim to robustly challenge, examine  and dissolve  such discrimination or oppression within the Collective.

For that purpose, we have established and will regularly review formal and informal processes to identify instances of discrimination and oppression, explore their dynamics openly and honestly and attempt to transform them into love and art.
